Welcome to the UK Chapter of the International Institute of Business Analysis
IIBA is a non-profit professional association focussed on the development and professional recognition of the business analyst. It is run by a team of
volunteers who work as practicing Business Analysts as their main occupation,
whilst supporting the IIBA in their spare time.
IIBA is a community-based professional association run
by BAs for BAs.
Fantastic value events: Hear from industry experts and thought leaders
Networking opportunities: Meet other BAs, either in-person, or through online forums. This is a great way to share experiences and knowledge
Qualifications: Through our association with IIBA Central, the Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) qualification is offered
Knowledge sharing: As an IIBA member or guest, you will have access to copies of slides, videos and reports from previous events, where they are available. During 2012, we aim to increase our knowledge sharing capacity
Membership benefits: There are a whole host of other benefits to becoming an IIBA member, including discounts on exams, a free electronic copy of the Business Analysis book of Knowledge (BABOK) and access to an electronic library.
The results of the inaugural UK Business Analysis Survey results will be published by the end of January however the winner of the prize draw has now been picked.
Steve Mott (Business Analyst at Balfour Beatty Living Places) had his name drawn, at random, by Marlene Leggott (IIBA UK Director). Steve wins free entry to the 2012 BA Conference Europe worth c.£1,500. Well done Steve!
The 2012’s conference will be taking place in London on the 24th and 26th September and will, once again, be packed full of enthusiastic BAs and industry experts – find out more http://www.irmuk.co.uk/ba2012/
The IIBA in the UK operates on a not for profit basis, which means that we rightly invest all the funding we receive back into running events and providing services for the benefit of our members.
We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers in the Midlands and in London who could coordinate event logistics and ensure that we continue to run high quality events. According to our post-event survey’s last year, not a single attendee said that they wouldn’t attend or recommend IIBA, a fact we are incredibly proud of.
And what’s in it for you? Other than the satisfaction of pulling off events at this scale, the role provides a great way to meet people working in the Business Analysis industry: Heads of Practice, sponsoring organisations, industry leading speakers and of course Business Analysts.
If that sounds like you then please do get in touch via the instructions on the volunteering link.
The next UK IIBA South West branch event will be held in Swindon
on Thursday 19th January 2012, 6:30pm – 8:30pm.
The event will cover:
1. Business Process Modelling and how it affects requirements gathering
2. Sticky Change: Building Momentum and Delivering Change that Lasts
You may have noticed that the main
IIBA website has recently had a refresh in terms of design - the good
news is that this look and feel will be coming to the UK site. However,
we will have to wait until Q1 2012 for this to arrive as the
administration team who look after the back end system are rolling it
out in a phased approach.
In the meantime we are planning some
website updates so please watch this space and bear with us...we
appreciate the current site looks very dated but rest assured we are
actively working on this.
IIBA is pleased to announce the successful launch of the North
West & East
UK Branch. This is an exciting milestone which will allow more members to
attend our events.
Congratulations to Christine Henly, of Allianz, who is the winner of this year's prestigious Business Analyst of the Year Award (sponsored by Assist KD). The award was presented during the BA Conference Europe 2011.
